Authorities in Vologda region intend to set up a technopark for small businesses carrying out innovation projects in the city of Cherepovets, news agency RIA Novosti reports.
The technopark project is expected to create 2,000 local jobs. Under the project, the technopark is to include 10 production complexes of various industrial sectors, including sewing, handicraft, food production, IT-technologies, wood processing and waste utilization.
To date, as-yet-unnamed producers of flux cored wire and electronic media for reading information from metal surface have shown interest to participating in the project, the news agency said.
The first mini-plants are scheduled to start operating in the park in February 2012, with the technopark to be fully launched by 2015.
