Hong Kong-based electronics manufacturer TPV Technology intends to open a $21 million plant to produce LCD-television sets near St. Petersburg, Kommersant reports.
The plant is reportedly to be opened at rented space of AKM-Logistics’ A-class warehouse complex in the village of Shushary.
Under plans, in 2011 the complex is to produce TVs under Philips brand, and next year other brands are to be launched. The plant’s projected annual capacity is 3.5 million TV sets and monitors.
