NetMediaEurope to cover Russian IT sector with East-West Digital News

East-West Digital News, Russia’s up and coming news and information site covering IT industries in English, has signed a partnership agreement with NetMediaEurope, publisher of more than 40 sites across Europe targeting IT professionals.

The partnership includes content exchanges and editorial cooperation. In addition, NetMediaEurope may develop advertising activities in Russia with the help of East-West Digital News.

Pilot projects have already been launched, with the UK version of eWEEK Europe and the French-language site ITespresso.fr publishing adapted versions of EWDN articles.

“We are very pleased to have a relationship with EWDN, as Russia is a significant market and an international player,” said Peter Judge, UK editor of eWEEK Europe. “Business and technology professionals in the West need a reliable source of news from there.”

“East-West Digital News is quickly developing its brand and influence among international IT-related business circles,” commented Adrien Henni, EWDN co-founder and chief editor. “Our ambition is to become the primary provider of news and market data whenever Russian IT industries are concerned.”

NetMediaEurope was founded in 2007 based on the online assets of VNU Business Media Europe (now known as The Nielsen Company) in four countries. In late 2010, the group’s audience amounted to approximately 12 million unique users with 45 million page views per month. Its portfolio includes brands such as Computable, eWeek Europe, Gizmodo, The Inquirer, ITespresso, PC Professional and Silicon.

Launched in early 2011, East-West Digital News is the first all English-language online resource dedicated to Russian IT industries. The site provides news, market data, business tools and events and updates related to Internet, e-commerce, mobile and telecoms, digital TV and satellite systems, software and hardware innovation. East-West Digital News cooperates with prominent local and international players such as Moscow’s Higher School of Economics, the Russian Venture Company and Russoft as well as FaberNovel, PMR Publications, PricewaterhouseCoopers Russia, other consultancies and specialized media.
