Tele2 enters Moscow market

Tele2 Russia, the Russian subsidiary of the Swedish telecommunications group, launched “Cheaper Calls” last week, its first offer to Muscovites.

The offer includes discounted calls from the Moscow region, from sea resorts and for calls from abroad.

The company has been operating in Russia since the mid 2000s, positioning itself as a mobile discounter. After progressively expanding its geographic coverage to 37 out of 83 Russian regions, it recently received additional GSM licenses for 4 new regions.

Tele2 currently has over 18 million subscribers in Russia.
